Toy Fair is the huge annual trade showcase event for the toy industry to show off all their new products for the upcoming year. As you can imagine has to be the UK's most fun exhibition! Arranged by the British Toy & Hobby Association, 2013 was the 60th Anniversary of Toy Fair and was on between Tuesday 22 and Thursday 24 January at its usual home - London's Olympia.

Promax UK is the industry body for TV marketing and creative. Every year there is a 2 day conference followed by an awards ceremony. In 2012, the conference was on the 8th/9th November at the Millennium Hotel in Gloucester Road, London.

Gavin is involved in Promax, and like in previous years, was asked to write and record the announcements for the conference which acted like 'continuity', navigating delegates from sessions, with some voiced live.

O2 Guru TV covered The Stuff Gadget Awards 2012. As part of the coverage, Gavin reported in a News Burst episode, with fellow O2 Guru TV Presenters Nicola Hume and Maddie Moate, covering the winnners of the Smartphone App Of The Year; Tablet App Of The Year; and Cloud App Of The Year categories. These were awarded to Strava, Sky Sports for iPad and BBC iPlayer respectivley at the awards ceremony on the evening of Thursday 1st November 2012 at London Film Musuem in Covent Garden.

Gavin hosted a live corporate event for toy store, The Entertainer and toy manufacturer Wow! Stuff, with the new Combat Creatures, fighting it out in a big Battle Arena!

In celebration of the new series of 'Ben 10 Omniverse' on Cartoon Network, in the summer of 2012 the channel took a live roadshow to nine shopping centres around the UK.  At these events they built a giant model of the alien 'Bloxx' out of Cobi plastic blocks. They started from scratch in Glasgow, and by the time they got to Bluewater in Kent, with nine weeks of kids queuing up to add blocks to the sculpture, they gained an entry in the Guinness World Book of Records for 'The Most People Taking Part In Building A Plastic Brick Sculpture'. When finished it consisted of around quarter of a million blocks.
